A Sign of Authority
A Sign of Authority
by Wayne Jackson
It is universally acknowledged that women in the first-century Christian worship covered their heads, and men did not.
While men still generally do not wear head coverings in Christian worship today, the practice of women covering their heads in worship has virtually disappeared from the religious scene in the last 50 to 100 years.
Why?
The answer is simple. Many have adopted the historically recent point of view that Paul’s instruction to the Corinthian church was merely a cultural adaptation and has virtually no application today.
Wayne Jackson explores the text of Paul’s teaching on men and women in the church assembly. This simple verse-by-verse study is easy to follow and understand but much harder to practice in today’s environment.
This booklet (23 pages) is not designed to create unnecessary controversy or confusion. It is for personal study and personal application.
